Our members are an eclectic mix of individuals and businesses that want to see Burien thrive. Membership includes large and small businesses from those with a single
employee to the Port of Seattle. A small fee gets you the numerous benefits of being a member and the knowledge that you are supporting the many things we do to
make Burien a terrific community. We are constantly thinking about new ways to enhance the benefits of your membership. Here are a few benefits that you can
currently enjoy: monthly newsletter, low cost copy machine service and bimonthly networking meetings with other business owners of Burien.
Join Discover Burien Form 
To help all new and existing Burien businesses succeed, we:
- Work with them to problem solve and provide education on available resources.
- Offer guidance on marketing and promoting business plans and assist with personnel.
- Serve as a liaison between businesses and city hall; along with economic development,
restructuring and revitalization, signage and zoning issues.
- In the near future: list available commercial properties to match businesses with properties
to fit their needs.
- Provide networking events aimed at recruiting of new clients and new businesses.
- Provide website designed to list members and provide links to their individual websites.
- Monthly Newsletter
- Weekly update listing the events & happenings.
- Member advertising discounts with local media outlets.
Special events introduce people who are new to
Burien or from surrounding communities to the
characteristics that make this city such a great place
to be. These promotional activities also draw
customers to the store, attract new businesses and
inspire those of us who live or work here to fall in
love all over again with our community!

Discover Burien regularly sends press releases to the
media marketing Burien, it’s businesses, special events
and developments that garner positive attention for
the city. Besides increasing awareness of the things
Burien has to offer and informing businesses about
available resources, Discover Burien’s goals include
educating Burien’s citizens about new programs to
improve quality of life in the city. Our monthly
newsletter keeps members updated not only on our
activities but also on relevant city actions and on
information to help you run your business and life
more smoothly.
The City of Burien is noted for volunteerism that
helps the city run smoothly. We can document well
over 450,000 hours contributed by citizens annually
between the various parts of the city structure.
They contribute because they believe in where they
work and live and want it to be the best it can be.
Discover Burien is just one of the many organizations
that enhance the attractiveness
of city venues, from parks to businesses areas and
in developing a marketing strategy that improves
the retail mix, tax base and investor confidence. What
the City is today has been greatly enhanced
by the work of Discover Burien since 2002.
MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY
As a member of the Discover Burien, you are listed in on our website in the Membership Directory. Your organization's name,
primary business category, representatives, address, phone, website, email, logo and business description are all included FREE
as part of your membership. We are happy to share, link and feature your businesses Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn information
through our social media channels. In our DB Member Events section you can post events, announcements, promotion are displayed on Discover Burien's website.
PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS IN THE VISITOR CENTER
Our new centrally located visitor center provides a convenient resource to locals and visitors in our community.
We encourage all of our members to display in the visitor center, creative types of collateral including; brochures,
posters, pens, coupons business cards and more. Information may also be placed in member welcome packets,
at information booths in any of our 7 yearly events and gladly given to people looking to connect with your product or service.
If you have marketing materials that you would like to have displayed, please bring them to the Discover Burien office or
to the events or contact our office via email here.
MEET OUR MEMBER EMAIL FEATURES
Members are eligible to have an article about themselves and their businesses in almost any of our email updates,
our e-Newsletter or monthly event reminders. We ask that you provide a web sized logo (web resolution), photos of your product(s),
staff or location along with a glowing description that encourages readers to engage with your business.
